discriminatory picture 4/2/14





1.) The persons face reflects that he is mad or upset, like it's not fair to him.


2.) If this happened today, it would be like an African American man applying for a job and getting turned down because of the color of his skin.

3.) In the picture, a black man is looking at a sign for a job that says "help wanted, whites only."

4.) In America at the time, there was still segregation.

The most difficult part of the discrimination project is being African American because we cannot talk or do anything without permission.

1.)Heterogeneous-different people, cultures, ethnicities, ect.

2.) Immigrants-legal aliens that move to another country.

3.) Reservations public land given to the Indians by the government.

4.) Refugee-move for protection purposes.

5.) Assimilation- adopting to another culture.

The population of the U.S. prominetly white immagrants since 1600s.




populations have grown african american, hispanic american, asian american, these have grown higher than whites.









minority population exceed white pop in cali, hawaii new mex. texas.

more females than males in the us. african americans- They have been slaves much longer than any other minority group. they continue to be a large population. Most gains about discrimination has been about african americans.

Native Americans- Most of there territor(1 million) became us land. 3/4 of there pop was wiped out.
poverty,joblessness and alcoholism plague indian tribes today. To fix mistakes (try) Indian education act of 1972.  

Hispanic American-Spanish speaking backround. can be any race. 50 million. cubin americans, central and south americans, purto recans, mexican. NOT ALL ARE MEXICANS.

Asian Americans- First to come to the us in 1850's & 60's first jobs were railroad. whites were mad because they took their jobs. so they payed them less. Chinese exclusion act of 1882. soppost to last 80 years but only 20. soppost to keep asians out of america. WWII japense were evacuated to the Pacific Coast. Even native born. (consentration camps.) even if born in America.


Women- treated bad through education, property rights and employment opertunites. they have made major progress, still not "equal" to men in numbers-fewer women in high status jobs than men. now illegal to pay women less than men.

Racisim is so overrated now days. It used to be a huge issue, especially in the southern parts of america. i belive that it isn't a problem anymore.

They should only serve for life if they have good expirence. If they do not want to serve for life they shouldn't have too. they should be able to resign anytime that they want.
